Look at the picture. What are the students learning to do on their screens?
Look, name, and explain what you see — then add one detail nobody else would notice.

In the picture, the students are learning to code using block-based programming. On their laptop screens I can see coloured blocks that snap together, each one representing an instruction such as moving or repeating an action. A teacher is standing beside one desk, pointing at a student's screen. What I also noticed is that the students are working on their own laptops but sitting close enough to see each other's screens, so they can compare and help one another.
Explains what block coding actually is rather than just naming it, then observes the peer learning.

- Point to what you see"In the picture, I can see…" — name two or three specific things, not just one.
- Explain what is happening"It looks like… because…" — link what you see to why it is happening.
- Add one closer detail"What I also noticed is…" — this is what lifts a plain answer into a strong one.
